Why have you contacted me?
We have recently done an audit of registered license keys. In reviewing the results, we found invalid keys that had been registered. We have sent a courtesy email notice to the email addresses registered under these keys to let the holder know of our findings, and to also let them know that future upgrades will be dependent on having a valid license key.
How do you know which keys are invalid?
Mindjet Corporation and Mindjet's authorized resellers distribute license keys with purchased products. These keys contain a recognizable format that does not match the invalid keys that we have found registered.
But my product is working anyway with the key I have?
The invalid keys that we have found will still unlock the product. However, these keys were not distributed by Mindjet Corporation or Mindjet's authorized resellers and are therefore considered invalid.
But I purchased the product and have a receipt?
Unfortunately, unauthorized sources have found ways to illegitimately sell and distribute Mindjet software. Mindjet allows users who have purchased from an unauthorized source the opportunity to obtain a valid key for an upgrade price rather than full price.
Are these unauthorized sources safe vendors?
Sources that sell and distribute products illegally may also use financial transaction information provided by the customer for broader illegitimate purposes. Anyone who has provided financial information to such vendors should contact their banking institutions immediately. In addition, such transactions may compromise a user’s computer by inserting virus, spyware or other types of malware.
What do I need to do to get a valid key?
To obtain a valid license key, you should visit our online store, contact Mindjet directly, or contact an authorized reseller and purchase an upgrade to MindManager Pro 7. You will receive both a valid license key and product download with you purchase. You can use your current key to obtain the upgrade pricing for the purchase.
But I already upgraded and I have a different key than the one listed in the email I received?
If you have a different key than the one listed in the email, please contact Mindjet Customer Service to confirm whether it is a valid key.
Do I need to uninstall or reinstall the product if I obtain a valid key?
If you are upgrading from MindManager 6 to MindManager Pro 7, we recommend that you uninstall the earlier version and install the current version. If you already have MindManager Pro 7, we recommend that you uninstall the existing version and reinstall the newly purchased version. Mindjet cannot warrant the authenticity of product purchased from unauthorized sources.
What happens if I don't upgrade to a valid key?
You may continue to use the product as is. However, in early 2008 Mindjet will be implementing an authorization and authentication system to more securely control the distribution of license keys. If you do not have a valid license key, you will not be able to install future updates or upgrades of the product.
Can I get a discount on the upgrade?
The upgrade pricing available through our online store, Mindjet direct, and through our authorized resellers is already at a discounted rate.
We have several users using this key, can we upgrade all together?
You may purchase multiple seats through our online store, Mindjet direct, and through our authorized resellers.
